As an athlete swings his bat towards the ball, his aim is miscalculated and the ball collides with his arm. The direct impact results in a fractured radius.

A concussion can occur from events such as a tackle in AFL. The athlete lunges at the ball but slips and lands irregularly on their head as it makes heavy impact with the ground. Another player collides with the fallen athlete, creating more impact, causing a concussion.
